different option plans. Option A is designed to help members

on generic prescription drugs. Option B is designed keeping
in mind the budget minded, and gives members lower monthly
premiums, however members under option B share more in the
cost of their health care.
Blue Advantage® members have direct access to a large network
of doctors, specialists, and hospitals that are within the
network. Members can also go directly to in-network
specialists and do not usually need a referral. Usually,
members do not have to deal with messy paperwork, and the
in-network doctors handle all the paperwork and filing.
To qualify for Blue Advantage®, an applicant must be a
resident of the state of North Carolina, be under the age of
65, and no qualify for Medicare.
